Then Ask an Employment Counsellor who works in a Youth Employment Centre in your area! Type in where you live and where you want to work to get started!
Employment Counsellors will respond to your question by email in 3-6 days. If you think that's too long to wait, you should contact your local Youth Employment Centre by phone or in person.
You can also browse through past questions in $#@! Happens — sometimes others are wondering about the same things you are!
How does this work?
Please read the Ask an Employment Counsellor Privacy Policy (also available on the next page, before you submit). But this is the gist of it:
When you submit your question (on the next page), your question will be sent to:
- an Employment Counsellor at the Youth Employment Centre you select
- your email address (so you can remember what exactly you asked when the Employment Counsellor answers back)
- OAYEC for quality control, and possibly for posting on $#@! Happens (but with all personally identifying info removed)
Afterwards, when the Employment Counsellor emails you back with an answer, it will go to both:
- your email address
- OAYEC (after all, we can't just post questions on $#@! Happens — we need the answers too)
And then all emails after that first answer will be just between you and your Employment Counsellor!
