Ask an Employment Counsellor Privacy Policy

1. What Information does OAYEC Collect?

The Ask an Employment Counsellor submission forms collect only information you enter yourself.

2. Who Gets Information I Submit?

When you submit the Ask an Employment Counsellor form, it goes to three people:

    • you, at the email address you entered, so you have a copy as a reminder
    • an employment counsellor at the Youth Employment Centre you selected, so they can read your question and answer it
    • OAYEC, so that we can add interesting questions to our $#@! Happens page
3. What Happens when a Youth Employment Counsellor Replies to Me?

The first reply you get to your question will go to you, and a copy will also go to OAYEC. The reason for OAYEC getting a copy as well is that we cannot very well just post questions without answers onto $#@! Happens.

All emails after the first reply are between you and your Employment Counsellor--OAYEC receives no copies of those messages.

4. How are Questions Posted to $#@! Happens?

If we decide to add your question and the answer you got to our $#@! Happens page, we will remove or change your name and any other personally identifying information about you to protect your privacy.

5. Is Everything I Write in My Submission or to My Employment Counsellor Private?

Both OAYEC and your Employment Counsellor will respect your privacy. However if you write about something dangerous or illegal that you did or plan to do, OAYEC and/or your Employment Counsellor may be obliged to report it to the authorities in order to protect you or others from harm.

Of course, you do not have to tell us your real name or phone number. The only piece of information in the submission form that must be correct is your email address.

6. Is There Anything Else I Should Know?

You can read our website's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for additional information.
